I have owned dogs all my life. However, I fell in love with the Rhodesian Ridgeback in 2002, 24 years ago, while working in Hawaii. They are the family dog, protector, hunter, and loyal companion. In Hawaii the Rhodesian Ridgeback is used to hunt the wild boar.

Thirteen years ago I was given the first opportunity to own my first Rhodesian Ridgeback, Mia. She was too smart to lure course — the plastic bag is not a real bunny. Her show career was short and ended after health testing confirmed DJD of the elbow. So she settled in as a loving companion, comforter and couch cuddler, a running partner turned couch potato who has been loved by all.

In 2022 I embarked on a new journey with Stella, aka Skyridge Girl on Fire. Her affectionate, loyal, velcro, aim-to-please personality has led me to new friendships and strong partnerships, with a desire to preserve this amazing breed.
